Fixing Call Delays and Dead Air Pickups

Fixing Call Delays and Dead Air Pickups

Understanding and Optimizing Call Performance with Mojo Dialer

Mojo Dialer delivers exceptional call quality through its direct connection to a Tier 1 carrier switch, outperforming standard VoIP systems. However, certain factors on your end may introduce delays or dead air during calls. Here's how to identify and resolve these issues.

Common Causes of Call Delays

1. WiFi Calling on Mobile Phones

WiFi calling adds noticeable latency during rapid dialing sessions, even when imperceptible during standard calls.

  • Solution:
    • Disable WiFi calling in your phone settings
    • Use a strong, stable cellular connection instead

2. LTE/VoLTE Calling

Like WiFi calling, LTE/VoLTE uses data for voice transmission, which can compromise call quality during high-speed dialing.

  • Solution:
    • Check if your carrier allows disabling VoLTE in phone settings
    • Use traditional cellular calling when possible

3. VoIP Phone Quality Issues

VoIP service quality varies significantly, with budget providers often experiencing inconsistent performance.

  • Solution:
    • Choose a premium VoIP provider known for low latency
    • Choose a service that is for "business-use" rather than "personal-use"
    • Use wired internet connections rather than WiFi
    • Avoid budget softphone solutions for Mojo dialing
    • Request "Voice Priority" configuration from your network administrator or phone service provider

Note for International Users: Geographic distance may introduce additional latency. Prioritize connection stability for best results.

4. Live Answer Beep Setting

This feature signals live answers but introduces a short delay before audio transmission begins.

  • Solution:
    • Disable Live Answer Beep in Mojo settings if immediate audio is critical
    • Consider the tradeoff between notification benefits and conversation immediacy

Quick Optimization Checklist

  • Turn off WiFi calling on mobile devices
  • Disable VoLTE if possible
  • Use a quality VoIP provider or direct cellular connection
  • Consider disabling Live Answer Beep for faster engagement
